Portland is on the leading edge when it comes to ADU’s, with many talented and passionate people helping to educate and answer questions about how ADU’s can become a viable option for the city and its homeowners.
One of the first stops for anything and everything about Accessory Dwelling Units in Portland Oregon, is the ADU blog for a wealth of information, links to the city codes and a video that is curated by three volunteers:
- Kol Peterson who owns the Tiny Caravan has his own ADU blog well and teaches classes about building ADU’s. Kol is also the organizer for the ADU Tours. He has an excellent book called Backdoor Revolution: the Definitive Guide to ADU Development, which I highly recommend.
- Martin Brown has built his own ADU and also writes and researches about environmental issues.
- Eli Spevak owns Orangesplot.net which is a housing development company and general contractor with a mission to pioneer new models of community oriented, affordable and and green housing models.
